Our Story
At Contentnea-Savannah School, our 1:1 district initiative provides equity and opportunity for all students, allowing them to grow, explore, and be inspired by the world available at their fingertips. Through daily embedded use of technology, teachers work to build critical thinkers and problem solvers. Using wireless connections, including iPads, MacBooks, and Apple TV’s, teachers are able to be mobile and omnipresent while teaching, allowing for optimal time on task and focused creation. By continuing to keep our focus on student centered creation, we are able to continue enriching our students today to find solutions for tomorrow.
Inspire
Internalizing learning is important to overall student growth. Digital tools offer interactive and engaging resources that can enhance the learning experience, make it more meaningful for students, and help meet the growth goal. Interactive multimedia, online collaboration, and personalized learning tools help students visualize abstract concepts, explore real-world applications, learn to work with others, and engage with the content in a more dynamic manner. Students can deepen their understanding and internalize the knowledge more effectively. Technology provides a way for these goals to be accomplished and to create an environment rich in opportunity for growth.
Imagine
Empowering students to take control of their learning is a powerful approach that can enhance their engagement, motivation, and ownership over the learning process. Providing choices and autonomy for students is key and technology provides the pathway for this. Offering students choices in their learning activities, assignments, or projects whenever possible fosters a sense of independence. Allowing them to select topics of interest, determine the approach to solving problems, or choose from a range of resources, encourages students to take control of their learning journey. These tools create problem-solvers and thinkers ready to tackle an ever-changing world.
Impact
Students are encouraged to take an active role in their learning and find what works for them. By providing this empowerment, students can recognize and appreciate the different choices they make in the classroom. Because they learn to appreciate the differences in their daily lives, this extends to the world around them. They can recognize that everyone is different and learns and grows in different ways.
